TAPPEN, B.C. — Two people were killed in a collision near Tappen Sunday (Oct. 2).
In a news release, RCMP say emergency crews were called to the Trans Canada Highway near Kirkpatrick Road at about 7:27 p.m. Sunday.
They say an SUV was travelling eastbound in the westbound lanes when it collided head-on with a westbound semi.
Of the four occupants of the SUV, two adults were killed and two children were taken to hospital. They are reportedly in stable condition. The driver and passenger of the semi suffered minor injuries.
“The RCMP investigation is continuing but at this time it appears that this is a tragic case of driver error on the part of driver of the SUV,” say RCMP in the release.
