Independent Investigations Office looking into motorcycle crash in Kamloops involving RCMP
KAMLOOPS — BC’s Independent Investigations Office (IIO) is investigating a crash in Kamloops last week that sent a man to hospital with serious injuries.
According to the IIO, RCMP were called to Highway 1 at Holman Road at approximately 10:55 p.m. July 22.
An officer responding to an unrelated incident parked and exited their police vehicle. A short time later, there was a collision between a motorcycle, the parked police vehicle, and another stationary emergency vehicle.
The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries.
The IIO says it was made aware of the incident the next day. It’s asking for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam video of the incident to contact them at the toll-free at Witness Line, 1-855-446-8477 or via the contact form on the iiobc.ca website.
