Kamloops RCMP rush to North Shore gas station after weapons call

KAMLOOPS — A suspect is in custody after a weapons complaint led police to swarm a North Shore gas station Wednesday afternoon (July 19).
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says police received the call at about 3:40 p.m. Witnesses reported the location to be the Canco gas station in the 200-block of Tranquille Road.
Evelyn says the caller reported someone making threats and possibly holding a weapon.
Responding RCMP officers were able to locate a suspect not far away and placed him under arrest.
Evelyn says investigators are still trying to piece together the details of the call.
